PCS Sleigh and Sled Gift Boxes

Hiya blogging friends :)
This deadline was hard to achieve as we had sad news on Sunday morning that an old friend had suddenly passed away .
So between phone calls to the family, and making the sympathy card, my time schedule was well and truly under pressure.
But, make it I have :)  Using another fabulous template from -  PCS ADORNED HOLIDAY
Melanie dreams up such clever ideas for boxes and these 2 are no exception!

Using double sided paper from K&Company (CLASSIC).
I've not 'fancied' them up yet as I may use these two boxes for my Grandsons'  Christmas money and would rather leave them simple.
Here's the Sled -
and, "Where's the box",  you may ask!
Ahah! ............................................................

And the Sleigh........................
Another view of the Sleigh.................................................

There's an optional panel for the Sleigh so as to conceal a gift inside - clever or what???

So summing up, Melanie has done it again. It's been so intriguing working with the templates from PAPER CRAFTERS SAMPLER
A joy to work with with great results - Thank You Melanie :)

Many thanks for stopping by :)

Teenage Boy Card

Hiya bloggers :)
Not much time to stop today as Christmas is fast approaching and there's still lots to do!
On top of everything else, the builder is coming 1st week of the New Year to fit a new bathroom!
Seen stuff on internet so popping out some time today for an eyes on and maybe also look at tiles.

This card is for our 14 year old Step Grandson which was a head scratching episode, as I don't do male cards easily - more so teenagers! but found an idea to case using   Coloured Lettering. I wasn't able to comment on the site for some reason - such a shame :(
RECIPE (edited 15th January as I got one wrong)
6" square embossing folder by Embossalicious
Digi stamp from KennyK (Teen Idol)
Die cuts Sizzix for the larger stars
The name 'SHAUN'  are single letters from Die-Versions.
'Happy Birthday' is Spellbinders
The smallest stars are punched.
All coloured with Copics.

Thanks so much for stopping by :)
Hope everyone is coping with the busy shops, traffic and all :)

Birthday Cheers

Searching through old stuff, I came upon more cards that hadn't been blogged.
On this card all the die-cuts are Sizzix apart from the corner die-cut by Cuttlebug It's an old one and maybe not available although I have spotted the set in Ebay.
Many thanks for the visit.
Take care xxxxx

LIMOGE TRINKET BOX from Paper Crafters Sampler

Hiya Bloggers :D
Well, what a whirlwind week this has been!
My posting should have been on Wednesday!
Better late than never as me Gran used to say :)

From last Saturday on a promised day out with my sweet granddaughter Grace to Crafty's in Liverpool for their grab a bargain day which she loved :)

Into Sunday - and off to Derby for a crafty meet up with my lovely crafting friends; an early start - 2hr drive there - lovely food with, chat and laughter with secret santa thrown in :) and 2hr drive home including the busy M6 motorway! But what a wonderful day and getting home tired but happy.

Baby sitting for our eldest daughter Louise, Friday gone and into the early hours of Saturday...
then up handy for HW! Laundry and getting ready for an overnight visit from our youngest daughter Victoria and our grandson Alfie travelling south from Kendal in the Lake District.
After they'd left for home today, I just had enough time for finishing touches to the Limoge Trinket Box  from the Adorned Holidays and in time to catch the good light for taking the photograph to upload.
I'll be making 2 more great projects from this set (for uploading next Wednesday) and you can spot them by checking out the link and also see the DT  talents in the Blog Hop samples

The template for this fab project  Limoge Trinket Box HERE arrived late because Melanie's time was taken up with Thanksgiving but Melanie gave me time to get it made and uploaded - it's very easy to follow the template and makes up in no time at all.

Hope you like it :)

Many thanks for visiting and please do pay a visit to Paper Crafters Sampler for more clever templates and ideas.
Wishing you well - take care friends xxxxx

Sizzix - From Our Home

Evening Bloggers :)
I bought this die on a whim recently and so glad I did, as I love the result!
It's so easy to achieve a card, it feels like I'm cheating, but why should a card take a whole day???
What attracted me to the die was that I figured, if I was to trim away the tree and the Christmas greeting I could maybe use it to create a New Home card too!!! I may experiment with this :)

Using a cheap old fashioned shaving brush from Wilkos, the backdrop is brushed on kinda randomly.
Then Frantage is applied to create the snow flakes.

RECIPE

SIZZIX thinlets die 659914
300 gsm white smooth cardstock from Anna Marie design
Rangers distress ink
For the snowflakes I used Stampendous (Frantage) chunky white embossing enamel

Thanks so much for the visit - it's now time I went to bed zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Love Diane x

My Favourite Tonic Verso Christmas Wreath Die

Hiya Blogging Friends :)
I do love this Tonic Verso die and although it's labeled 'Christmas Wreath' it doesn't scream Christmas and is useful for anything decorative.
And it's not too OTT

RECIPE

To make the poinsettia centre, I used 2 main die sets:-
Cut sprigs from the Holly Flourish die by Cheery Lynn
And punched pine by McGill
finished with card candy for flower centre

Smooth white cardstock brushed with RANGERS  Distress Ink - Iced Spruce
(my new favourite colour)

Some Rubber Stamping

Hiya bloggers :)
It's occurred to me that most of my stuff of late all seems to be die-cutting, and there's so many beautiful clever dies out there now that I've got myself wrapped up in the process, and that I seem to have neglected my old love, the rubber stamp!

Inverted rubber stamp...
(below) Brilliance ink colouring applied direct to stamp
(Below) Mostly Lavinia stamps, Greeting from StampCamp and black glitter on the Lavinia poppies.

RECIPE
Echinacea Inverted rubber stamp
Poppy card is made from Papermania Stamp set
The last card is mostly LAVINIA STAMPS apart from the bottom right image (cannot recall the name)

Many thanks for the visit - take care xxx

PCS Acorn Pocket Gift Box

Hiya Blogging friends.

An amazingly simple template from our super clever Melanie was used to make this adorable gift box. It came together so easily (I'm sure because of the clever design)

RECIPE
Template from Paper Crafters Sampler
Flowers from my stash are embellished with punched shapes by Woodware, and a blob of dimension paint from a Viva Decor Paper Pen
 The die-cut ivy by Marianne
And using DP from K&Company Classic K Baily to make the main body of the box.

Have you had a peep at the  Paper Crafters Sampler BLOG? You'll find such inspiration to get crafty.

Pilgrim Harvester Hat (Container)

Hiya fellow Bloggers :)
What a clever container we have for the OCTOBER 2014 PCS TEMPLATE
It's a container that can be used either way up because there's 2 separate openings :) and very handy for gifts, treats, nuts, in fact any number of things.

Here, my sample is shown using it for potpourri
And the other way up using a chunkier potpourri
Here we have the elements used to create different looks to the project
The flower wreath used as a lid

The gift tag
                                                                       Unadorned

RECIPE

For the flower wreath I made a circlular frame using Nesties and topped it with...
And the Large Fern Punch from Leone

For the 'with thanks' tag
I added Spellbinder Cattails die-cut

Thanks so much for popping by and do pay PCS a visit to see more

My Little School Desk - My Sample from PCS August 2014

Another nifty box template from Paper Crafters Sampler - Summer - August 2014 - Welcome Back to School. I've decorated the removable desk lid with inspiring quotes and used inside of the desk for pencils but, of course, it's a gift box so fill with whatever!
Please don't look too closely at the feet of MY desk legs! I didn't follow the instructions correctly and made them too big but, Melanie has added 3d instructions that show a duff like me how the assembly should go
That said, I'm still very pleased with the result

The message is basically "Work hard at school and the world is your oyster!!!"
I like the way Melanie has enabled the creation of a trough for implements or whatever!
I've used my desk base as a box for pencils etc

RECIPE
WINGS - Kanban clear stamps
STAMPED BACKGROUND - Papermania Chronology (a free set from ???)
DREAM QUOTES - Stamp Camp - S424
WING QUOTES - Stamp Camp - S423

Many thanks for stopping by,
Please link back to PCS Blog for more inspiration

Memory Box Catalina Wreath used to make an Aperture

Good morning bloggers :)
Well after trying to post this project in the early hours of this morning I had to give up (and go to bed ) due to losing internet connection.
It's still playing up this morning, is it down to the blustery weather?

So perusing through Pinterest recently, I happened upon THIS different way of using the Catalina Wreath Die and so of course I just had to try it out.

Using a blank cardstock to fit a chosen card blank, I die-cut the wreath in the centre, removed the die-cut so as to sponge the colour on before resiting it and secured with DST.
Stamped my greeting from JustRite (Christmas Inner Thoughts - CL-04625) onto matching cardstock and placing behind the aperture with foam fixings.
A second cut was made from which I snipped off a few flowers to add as dimension.
Finally, finishing off with Cosmic Shimmer white PVA managing to apply some tiny blobs on the smallest stem buds.

I'm pleased with how this one turned out with no faff and pretty speedy to create ;)
Credit goes to SMITTEN for the inspiration!

ADIRONDACK CHAIR - My First DT project for Paper Crafters Sampler (PCS)

IT'S A BOX!
It really is :) It's so ingenious, designed by the talented Melanie Schulenberg from pocketsofinspiration. For the templates  LINK HERE to PaperCraftersSampler 2014/07/july-elements-of-summer
There's another sample to follow next week ;)

So here is the Adirondack Chair/Box made from Melanie's genious template.

The embellishments are from a digi set I've had for such a long time by Gina Jane although I have a feeling this set. called Seeds of Kindness, was originally from PC Crafter who no longer seem to be trading.

So how about popping over to Paper Crafters Sampler and have a look around ;)
HERE are some of their fantastic finished samples.

So many thanks to Melanie for inviting me onto the team, I'm gonna have fun!!!

Thank you so much for stopping by xxxxx

Centre Stepper Card

Morning bloggers :) It's very wet here but, been for our doggy walk with my new waterproof pants and delighted to say that they work! I did have waterproofs but cheap n nasty, and they made you perspire so you got wet from the inside haha! You get what you pay for ;)

Well, I have some news to share... I've been invited onto the design team  of PAPER CRAFTERS SAMPLER so it's an exciting period for me and really looking forward to getting stuck in :)
See the button on the right :)

Today I want to share a card I CASED from PAMSCRAFTS . Pam is a most talented crafter from the design team at OYSTER PAPER CRAFTS
And here's my version...
Using Conqueror metalic card and paper in Champagne throughout
The embossed background is pieced onto the CB using Cuttlebug dies. Decorated with little  Sizzix flowers on the left, a bird die-cut also from Sizzix.
The main centre piece (base) is die-cut using a die  from Nellie's,decorated with Memory Box poppy die, Sizzix leaf die and a Martha Stewart punched butterfly.
The bottom tier is finished with a Martha Stewart punch for the grass.
Those embossed words are cut from a Cuttlebug embossing folder.

I hope you like it and it's not too much of a blatant copy of Pams!

Thanks for popping by xxxxx

First POP-UP Box Card

Hiya Blogging Friends ;)
Hope all is well with you as we bid farewell to September and the Summer! OMG! it's getting dark so early here!

One of our Grandaughters was 10 years old on Monday so when I saw this Tutorial with Video from Split Coast Stampers I was thinking she'd love it  (as she did) :D

I'm afraid I was running out of time towards the finish and need to rush the "10 Today!" so I'm not 100% happy with it...
Using various dies, stamped images and punches from my stash

Thank you for the visit - pop back soon I hope :D

Digital Pencil Too

Hiya fellow bloggers :)
Today I have a Christmas card using a Digi stamp from Mo's Digital Pencil and coloured using Copics.
He's rather a fun little chap ;)
The DP is from my stash and I cannot remember where from as I'v had it sooo long! The snow flakes on it have been accentuated with Cosmic Shimmer (Cosmic White PVA)
The paper bow is a die-cut  using the Sue Wilson - Classic 3D Bow which I love!
Greeting is mounted on a die-cut  Nellie's Multi Frame MFD 008
And the stars in the corner are cut from Xcut Nesting Dies - XCU503400

As usual, I'm still suffering from 'not knowing where to stop syndrome'
Many thanks for stopping by, enjoy your day xxx

Getting Messy

Hi Bloggers :)
Sorry for my absence but we've been on holiday to Berwick upon Tweed (again).
Yes, we were there in June this year and ran out of days to visit all of the great places.

In the meantime, here's one of my makes using acrylic paint and inks.....
Background is brayered with acrylic paint prior to stenciling and stamping with acrylics and finally stamping proper with inks using a variety of Lavinia Stamps.
The main stamped image is by Indigo Blu - Poppy Heart mounted on X Cut Nesting Dies.
And finally, the Tag by Marianne (LR0154) was used to carry the stamped message.

Here's just a few of the holiday shots.....
The medieval Twizel Bridge

And for a hidden gem -  The Ship Inn, Low Newton, Low Newton by the sea Northumberland
DISCLAIMER...
Can I add that this photo (below) is from the internet as Jackie thinks it's my own! Can't take the credit

Many thanks for stopping by x

Victoria's 40th Birthday Card

Hi Bloggers :D
I'm a bit late posting this card (birthday was last week )
And it hasn't the slightest resemblance to the original idea in my head.
It turned out rather uniform and I'd rather it was more random but it's a bit late now haha!
Thank you for visiting my blog xxxxx

Anniversary Card for Hubby

Hiya Bloggers :)
Well, this week has flown by! It was only last weekend we were celebrating our daughter's 40th birthday bash in Kendal. Lots of fun with a ceilidh band for entertainment. I think my arms are still in their sockets!

Our Wedding Anniversary happens to fall on the same date and here is my card to Brian...
Using the smallest of the 2  TONIC die cut corners - 410E VERSO CORNER DIE SET (IVY BRIDGE)

Some cards I CASED

Hiya Bloggers :)
There's quite a few designs I love that were found on Pinterest and here I've had a go at casing some of them...

Here's a beauty from Vicki Dutcher made by using a dabbed background.
And also a beauty from Jen and hers is using more splats.
I've used ink splats for mine and is quite random.
The stamped flower is from Magenta and those beautiful words is a stamp from Clarity Stamps.
The card stock is die-cut using Spellbinders (Card Creator, Fanciful Lattice)
This second card is made casing this fab card made by Becca
Using a die from Tonic to make a paper bow
And I squashed bead end caps so as to place underneath the gems to make 'em pop more

And finally Dina Kowal from .iostamps made this beauty using IO Stamps- snowflake dies.
I don't have these dies so I used a rather lovely set from Spellbinders (Shapeabilities-2013 Snowflake Pendant)
The paper bow is from a brilliant die set made by (Tonic)
Well, I do hope you like them :)
And a huge thank you goes to all the clever crafters out there for all the brilliant inspiration (clapping) ;)
Thanks for stopping by xxx
