THIRD SET OF LATEST DIGI PAGES, WORKED IN SCRAPBOOK ARTIST

Tortie and Tom's wedding...the theme was blue, hence the blue tones of the pages...

I love this photo with Tom's triumphant hand gesture - YES!!!!!
I managed to colour the text with pattern...(the foliage around the main photo I grouped and cut the text from it) then gave it a bevel. But I was playing at the time and cannot remember exactly how I did it (no hope for me) duh!
Using the Serif digi kit, Butterfly Elegance (where the pearl brush is from)...and Quilted Cuddles for the foliage...
The scalloped strips are made using the scissor tool.

The boys all ready for the off.

I made this page for a challenge where we had to make a page with 3 frames using one photo.

The hearts and swirls are from Serif digikit Cupids and Hearts

And I gave the frames and title a metal effect finish.

The page title is given a white glow in 'effects'

Back again! With more of the digi pages I've been doing.
More of my lovely grandchildren ;o)

My eldest granddaughter, taken when she was getting more proficient with her skiing ;o)
Using the Serif digikit layout Modern Lace with the tree added from another Serif digikit (Christmas Wonderland), and I've added the cross stitch using an embroidery brush.

Our youngest grandson at 2 days old.
Using the Serif digikit layout Quilted Cuddles. I've added extra embellishments from the kit to the layout.

Jack again...The object of the exercise was to make word art following the excellent VIDEO TUTORIAL from Karen Lewis.
I used the letter 'a' and made it into an intelligent frame.
Then made the text into metal (it may be plastic - can't remember!) with the effects button
Keeping the page simple with elements from Quilted Cuddles again, I added a train engine, trucks and carriages, a digi stamp set called 'As I Ride By' from Elizabeth Weaver at DSP Store.

I so enjoyed celebrating this gorgeous smile of grandson Alfie's.
The Serif digikit, Vintage Candy is used and the swizzle sweetie frame I made using a brush from this kit - fun!!!

DIGI ALBUM PAGES 1

Oh dear, I sure have been missing for a while!
But, I do have a good excuse...I've started on more of the family albums, but it's a slow process as I'm learning as I go with Serif Scrapbook Artist.
And this is where I'm up to.....

Here I've used the Serif digikit Modern Lace.

Using a kit from 2peas by Rhonna Farrer.
Cross stitched edge made using the embroidery brush in CraftArtist.

This is using Serif (Fathers Day 2011) digi kit ready made layout that is tweaked a bit.
I added to the background with one my photos of the River Kent Estuary at Arnside.

This QP isn't tweakable but I DID ADD some embellishments from my files, and had a play with matting the text in CA.

Bear on a deckchair (digi image from Di's digi downloads) is blended in digitally ...

Sand dunes, foiliage and lighthouse are hand stamped using Inkylicious (seascapes set)

A hint of colour from alcahol ink pens.

Layered with Kay&Company papers, and finished with shells from our beach trips and hand punched white foliage.

I'VE NOT DONE DIGI SCRAPPING IN AGES

Bought the Serif CraftArtist Platinum as it looked so much easier to use than the PSE I've used in the past.
Two years ago, I took pictures of my eldest grandaughter and the sunflower she was very proud of growing and have only just got around to playing with them.
This is what I came up with and I do love how easy it is to blend using the program :o)

I thought I'd post those done 5-6 years ago made with PSE.......
Pretty basic and some I hadn't then learned how to use the shadow tool.

Normally, I like to colour my own images, but.....these are great for a belting card when you're in a hurry...
The images and graphics a brill!!! Real quality ;o)

For the blue card the SHAPE is a freebie as is the SNOWFLAKE PAPER

And it's used with Penguin Christmas in Blue.......
FREEBIE 'WINTER WISHES' is used on the label.

SANTA and SNOWEY KIT is used to make my second card.
It was so quick and easy to use!!! But, to be honest...I'd made the label too large (in Photoshop) for my intended square card so it finished up being made into A5, but I still liked the result LOL!

It's been quite a hectic Christmas and New Year for us and the family. And now that we're getting back to a bit of normality (what's normal) LOL!, I thought I'd better post what I've been doing.....

TIDDLEY INKS AND BRENDA PINNICK - SAME BUT DIFFERENT
All are 6"x6"and made for our grandchildren for Christmas 2011...
Backing paper and chipboard pieces are from an enormous Brenda Pinnick Christmas Scrapbook kit bought from QVC ages ago.
The digi stamp images from TIDDLEY INKS are smashing.
For the boys I used Santa's Helper and for the girls I used Christmas Princess
Coloured with a various alcahol ink pens.
And the white fur trims are finished with Glamour Dust.

It's a while since my last post but I just HAD to make a huge effort to get on with making cards to mail out...
Most are now finished and will post them on my blog very soon.
In the meantime, I just had to share this...it is layered with silicone but it doesn't show on the photo I'm afraid.
I found this gorgeous FREEBIE ALPHA and from there found the matching So Macho digis that I made this card with HERE. I'm ever so pleased with the result :D

Well, I've lost count of how many attempts I've made to get this card photographed and this is the best of a bad lot - sorry :o(
Most of the attempts didn't show the colours properly and this is the nearest match...

GETTING ON WITH CHRISTMAS

After stalling for a while, I've managed to get on with a few of my cards...

Here I've used a sheet of Bazzil 12"x12" and made two 6x6ish cards from it. They're actually 5 3/4 " square to fit the envelopes I have.

My pet hate is throwing bits away and so managed to use the leftover strips for the Peachy Keen challenge sketch using an embossing folder to make them pop more.

TRYING TO KEEP IT SIMPLE

I so admire those of you that master stunning CAS cards.

And with a bit of determination, I've had a go myself. I'm not too sure if it's completely CAS as I find it hard to leave white space!

I made a 5.75" square, white card base which is embossed with the Cuttlebug (snow effect) folder.

Towards the left side, where the folder finished, I used a score board to emboss a straight line and inside this line I have brayered a panel using Adirondack (denim), then using the residue colour on the brayer I gave a soft distress to the remainder of the card.

The greeting stamp is CuddleyBuddley.

The snow hills are stamped with the sand dune stamps (multi-use haha) from the Seascape set by Inkylicious.

Santa is from the Kanban- 2010 Happy Christmas stamp set and colourd with Copics. (blue for a change!)
He's stamped separately onto my favorite CS for Copic colouring then cut out and stuck flat to the card base; Besides, I didn't want him with bumps. lol.

And finished with lace and ribbon over the blue brayered panel.

I think I'm able to enter into the following 3 challenges.

I've followed the Challenge 63 sketch from Peachy Keen Stamps
This is my version of it...

Starting with approx' 8"x8" scalloped card blank...
On spare card and using the Martha Stewart (Inches) scoreboard, I scored diagonally in half inch steps to create a trellis like design (shown to me by my crafty friends) ; ...
This was brayered with Adirondack ink pad.

The top piece of white card was put through the Big Shot with a Sizzix embossing plate (I think it is from their Christmas set)

For the flower heads I used Sizzix Bigz (Flower Layers-654832) opting for just the smallest layer which is topped with 2 of the small circular Nesties.
Then I used two different (PK-490) fabulous face stamps (set of 31 faces) from http://www.peachykeenstamps.com/products/PK_490_Everyday_Character_Face_Assortment-171-30.html

Used 2 of the Sizzix (Hello Kitty) Ribbon dies, one with diamond shapes to the middle of the card and then the ric-rac shape for the flower stems.
And to create the leaves I used the Marianne flower die - LR0122, separating the petals to resemble leaves...

Grass at the bottom edge is made with the Martha Stewart (grass) border punch.

Die cut greeting at the top is from the Sizzix 12 die Cardmaking Set

WHOOPSI DAISY... LACE AND PEARLS CHALLENGE

My lace was too stark a white for the tones of this card so I boiled it in tea to give it a vintage look.

The lace is gathered around the oval shape and also used to finish off the flower.

I've used a pearl button for the pearl element required.

GETTING BACK INTO IT WITH A PEACHY KEEN CHALLENGE

Well I don't know where to start!
My last posting was back in October 2009 when a severe attack of Psoriatic Athritis hit, (it does the same kind of damage as Rheumatoid Arthritis) leaving me with little mobility by the time 2010 was with us...
With medication, the inflamation was under control and muscle strength returning but, it left me with a damaged right hip...
Got the hip replaced in January this year and am now getting back to normal (ish).
My strength although much improved is nothing like it should be but I'm ready to BLOG AGAIN!

So here we go with my version of this unusual Peachy Keen sketch...

And here's my take on it...used for my Grandson Jacks' 1st birthday card.

I decided to use the shape as a hill for the little train set cut from a die set by QuicKutz (train)
Jacks photo is altered in Photoshop to a drawing.
The greeting is made using Sizzix dies.
The twine element that's required is embroidery thread wrapped around the J.A.C.K. letters.

My card for http://cutedaisymay.blogspot.com/2009/10/fairy-nuff.html The fairy is a stamp from Stamp Camp bought while at the Happy Stampers stamp festival in Port Sunlight last week (another load of dosh spent) lol...Her skin is coloured with Copics, her dress etc. with Sakura Stardust pens, the moon and her wings with Crystal Glitter from Art Institute...The tree has holographic silver glitter added and was stamped at a craft meet-up with friends and ain't sure of the make of the tree stamp...The snow hills are die cut circles cut in half and have been sprayed with silver glitter spray from Crafters Companion.

CONCERTINA FAN FOLD FLOWER (MY WAY)

After being inspired by the fan fold flower by Splitcoast Stampers I thought of another way of doing the fan fold...and using this method, the fan will make much larger if you want it to.

Start by cutting 9cm from the short edge of an A4 giving you a piece 9X21cm (I used 120g)

Cut it bigger if you want to

Trim off excess from the edges (scallops that are not whole)

Hide the workings with a topper

Not so easy to spot the 2nd button; it's the little red one up near the top left corner, and the big button can't be missed on the single punched flower.

THINGS ABOUT ME

1. The day my first child was born was the best day of my life, and then I was blessed with another three :0) and the arrival of my lovely grandchildren comes a very close second.

BLUE and GREEN CHALLENGE at CDM

The stamped image is by Penny Black (light the night) and coloured with Copics.

Bottom layer DP is by Brenda Pinnick.

The other layers were made using K&CO DP.

The trusty Martha Stewart doily lace edge punch for under the blue ribbon, and her punch is used for the leaves.

Xcut punch to make the flower.

We are Memorykeepers blue gromlet.

Glossy Accents is used on her little bag.

DP and flower edges are distressed with Adirondack [for the green] and Whispers [for the blue] dye ink pads.

TWO SYMPATHY CARDS

Both of these are for my DH Brian's friend who lost his Dad. One from us and one another friend asked me to make.

The BUTTERFLY CARD is made using Dovecraft DP with Pearls and Glossy Accents added to the flower centres. That wording on the Sizzix label is "borrowed" from Issy . I've tried to use mine in a different form than Issy - thanks Issy ;) The butterfly is made using a stamp by Clarity..................................

THE WHITE TEXTURED CARD is a combination of Cuttlebug folders with flowers,stem,butterfly and message die cuts by Sizzix

THE DREADED "FOOTIE CARDS" AND ONE FOR A CHRISTENING

How does everyone else feel about having to do cards with the football theme? I can't get inspired by them but, here's my effort on one along with a Christening card; both are commissions.

The images on the footie card have been worked in Photoshop, a PNG is made of the liver bird for the paper ribbon strip down the left hand side...The Sizzix label has been scanned into PS making the smaller red and black layers which are hand cut; all sitting on a Sizzix label (proper) The LFC logo has had Glossy Accents applied in places.

The main green cardstock has been textured with a Sizzix texture plate..................................

On the CHRISTENING CARD, the cross stamp (Papermania) is inked with Brilliance ink pad and the same ink pad is used to colour the 3 x flowers, distressed edges and the bottom layer. That bottom layer also has a gold glitter spray applied (Crafters Companion) - that glitter spray is so useful ;)

DP by K&CO, the swirly elements are cut from another matching K&CO DP

There's the odd flat backed gems and pearls added along with touches of Glossy Accents

JACKIE'S FABULOUS STAMP

At a stamping sessions with crafting friends,I used this little beauty of Jackie's. (by Stampendous)...

On the day, Jackie made a superb card with it and it was so difficult for me to come up with something that wasn't the "same as"...

On perusing through a K&CO stack I found this cracking paper with the toadstools, on which there's Sakura clear used in places but doesn't show on the photo although the Glossy Accents and the glittering does. The cap of one toadstool has been raised in 3d...

It's been used as an Anniversary card for another crafting friend; Pauline's anni today (hope the day's going well Pauline and Rob) ;)

The black band on the bees body has had black glitter applied and then a coating of Glossy Accent on top of that.

Forgotten I had this Miss Kitty image

I keep getting orders for "girls that love to shop" and very soon run out of both ideas and images that I've not used in the past for the commissions...

I bought this download of Miss Kitty from Cuddly Buddly ages ago and it's been sitting in my files unused!

I opened the image in Photoshop to give it more layers for the decoupage (shopping bags and flowers on the hat)

The punched flower on one of the bags is there to cover a boo-boo!

The recipient's name "Victoria" had to be added to the card front but, it's a lot of letters to fill a small space which is why it's been stamped onto the petals of a Sizzix daisy diecut. It was still too large so the petals have been seperated and arranged in a fan shape...

DP is K&CO

With Cuttlebug Embossing Folders

The Christmas scene was a try out of using the CB snow village as a back drop but, I placed the boy and dog too far over to the right which left a gaping void behind the image which is why the Santa and sleigh has been added. Need I say that wasn't planned lol.

There was too much text for the [Floral Fantasy] engagement card so I've done it entirely different, making the text the main focus instead of what looked like an add-on.

I prefer this much more for the occasion with all that wording.

The tree is hand cut and the flowers and leaves are from a Sizzix die...The original card had the dark red flowers on, but I thought they were overpowering which is why they're altered to a softer pink.

Personally, I feel the wording on the card is too much, but that's what the commission stipulated - can't win 'em all ;)

Copics used for the colouring and Fiskars Threading Water border punch is used to make the scalloped mat.

The card stock is just basic white that is chalked pink before spraying with Crafters Companion Gold glitter spray.

The bottom photo corner is hand cut from a piece of scrap K&Co

HANNA'S WINDOW SHOPPING STAMP SET

This set of stamps from HANNA is getting replaced as the "shop window" stamp was damaged. So until it's replaced, I scanned it into PS to tweak it and coloured it digitally.

The sketch is inspired from one of Pink Petticoat's and it's their DP used.

The bottom scallop is made from an art deco ding.

For my friend Terry who's birthday is on Friday.

She likes brown hues so I'm hoping she'll like this.

and am pleased with the LO.

The gold coloured panels [originally plain white paper] I coloured with Cosmic Mica powders, applied directly and also stamped with Versamark before applying the mica.

Most of the flower stamping was done using CaroLines Die Sheets...the gold sprigs were stamped and heat embossed using Hero Arts [fanciful dot filament] stamp.

Sentiment stamp by FUNSTAMPS [if friends were flowers]

and finished with a smattering of chrystal flowers from The Glitter Girls, a bit of flowersoft, gems and Glossy Accents.

It's Grandson Alfie's naming day on Saturday and I made this card for him.

There's a short 'boy' greeting spread between the letters A - I, and a rather good poem/sentiment and the last page [letter E]. I found the poem on-line which put a smile on my face.Most of the DP used is DCWV 8x8" Nanna's Nursery [baby boy] stack.

The overall size of the card is 15cm x 26cm {approx. 6x11"}

Stamps:- MAIN IMAGE is PB [light the night]...SMALL CROWN by Clarity Stamps...CORNER SWIRL by Creative Expressions [swirl]...THE GREETING is a Cuddly Buddly stamp.

I used Ink it Up [pumpkin] for most of the stamping and to colour the punched flowers and leaves.

The topper is made using Fiskars border punch [Threading water] although it's now sold in the UK under a different name and I can't think what it is - sorry.

Eldest daughter is a huge Art Deco fan

I used this image of Amber from Di Kaye's Art Deco CD to make an 8x8 card for my daughter's birthday tomorrow. She's a huge art deco fan so she should appreciate it.

There was very little suitable DP in my stash so the sun-ray (featured in lots of art deco) was made using strips of black CS.

The two corner flowers are DP from Dovecraft 6x6 inch Amethyst-Floral Prints paper stack.

for his card...I've had to rotate the sketch to suit the photo I took of the Red Rum Bronze statue at Aintree Racecourse...I've used Brenda Pinnick DP for the background and plain card stock for the three strips to make a layer behind the image which are cut from Cuttlebug border dies...Paisley shapes are cut from KAY&CO DP and finished with We are Memory Keepers large jewel brads...There's no greeting coz I want to use this image for his scrapbook page.

SAS Challenge March 19th

My first ever Tilda card, image courtesy of friends at a craft-meet in Derby.

Brenda Pinnick DP...Sakura Stardust pens used to high-lite the red bows and hearts on the stamped image, also the DP pattern although this doesn't show up on the picci.

I messed up the stamped finials on the bottom of the card so used Sakura Pen as a flourish doodle to disguise my mistake - like you do! LOL

Birthday card made for my hubby's friend...trying out the latest SAS sketch [March 19th]...

Brenda Pinnick DP and Forever Friends stamp was used and although it doesn't show, the bears champagne bottle and the edges of the DP layers are highlighted with Sakura pens

Because I didn't get the sketch right, this card isn't getting submitted to the challenge and I've done another... but the birthday boy loved his card LOL

WHITE STAMPED VELLUM

Using a simple white vellum overlay, I stamped a flourish from the IVY set by CREATIVE EXPRESSIONS...used a die cut flourish, butterfly and phrase from SIZZIX...then die cut flowers from QUICK-CUT...The silk flower is from FLORA DOODLES

The vellum wrap has been finished with the MARTHA STEWART doiley edge border punch and is adhered to the back with DST which is disguised using the white satin ribbon and paper flower.

I've no idaea as to why, but, I spent a while on the settings last night - twiddles a few knobs in the "comments settings" and today there's comments from Viv and Jackie [thanks girls] but no sign of the missing ones from Linda...
If anyone else left comments and they're not showing, then I must apologise, I really don't know what went wrong XXX

MOTHERS DAY AGAIN

I've not been around for the last few days having visited Viv [Craft Haven] for a brill craft-get-together on Sunday with a few more like-minded friends...Then up to Kendal on Monday to visit my new Grandson Alfie...and spent most of yesterday just chilling !!!

These are my latest 2 for Mothers Day - Having seen some of you using blue/brown palette, it spurred me to have a go at these colours...The pink/green one was a headache as I re-worked it coz the first attempt wasn't right.Now to get around to getting something more traditional sorted.

A bit bright !

This one was started by applying Papermania Glittered Flock on the Sizzix alpha [the result is rather bright and strong] and then it was worked backwards to suit - not a good idea LOL

The stamped image is courtesy of Viv - thanks mate.The CB embossing I painted with acrylic paint using a wax resist method but I still had to go over it with the sandpaper...I didn't have a small bright yellow flower in my stash so I chalked over a pale yellow one so's it would match better...The leaf stem is hand-cut following a die-cut filched from a crimbo card :o)

So this is the final result :o)

It DL sized...The swan [snapped on the Leed-Liverpool Canal in Bootle] is taken by a lovely guy I met selling his photos to raise funds for a long distance charity bike ride...The distressed matts are made using Core-dination papers and the swirls are stamped adding black pearls and velvet flock here n there.
